Portrait #7 - Stéphanie
For the first time on a Portrait of Parisian Girls, I am meeting our girl by night near the Canal Saint-Martin. Stéphanie is the Parisian-born and adopted New-Yorker behind the photography project Gueules de Parisiens which portrays Parisian people on their daily lives. And tonight she kindly accepted to step in front of the camera, just this once!
#1 Stéphanie, what is your favorite neighborhood in Paris ?
The 10th arrondissement because it is a lively and vibrant neighborhood. It truly represents Paris. I like how people live along: from the edgiest hipsters to locals who have been living here for decades… It is a big-hearted district with a lot of variety.
#2 A little Parisian habit of yours ?
Sitting on a bench, at the terrace of a café and look at people. For a street photographer, it is the perfect hobby.
#3 If your district was a song ?
Titi Parisien by Seth Gueko ... Of course.
#4 Your favorite gourmet Parisian address ?
Only one gourmet address ? That’s impossible. Okay, let’s say 2 : the baker Liberté (« Freedom ») on Rue des Vinaigriers, and Baci Bisou (the best Italian ice-creams in Paris).
